Views of new utility

In response to great demand I have attached a couple of photos of the utility room (shower room or whatever you want to call it) works really well as a room, shower is great and has freed up room in the kitchen area for the computer to come downstairs. This has made a huge difference as we now use the Mac quite a lot, with the kids having their own accounts and access to their own list of websites.

PC desk is my own handiwork, with advice and support from Grandfer. It's reinforced with angle iron so shouldn't go anywhere soon.

Trip to London

It was time to burn some Marriott rewards points so booked for Sara and I to whizz down for a couple of days while the kids went to stay in Great Rollright.

For her birthday Sara had had Dirty Dancing tickets (not lessons, which would have been a completely different present).  Good show, loud and something for everyone.

On Friday we went for a trip round St Pauls, great Cathedral. Saw Wellington and Nelson's caskets and had a walk up nearly 600 spiral stairs to see the view from the top.

Off Road on the Chase

Last weekend we went for a trip out into Cannock Chase ran by an organisation affiliated to the forestry commission. Basically, once a month they run a group of about 10 vehicles and take them round the Chase and use some of the money to help look after the byways. But of course we went because it gave us a chance to get out and about in the Land Rover.

This was us going up 'the steps'.  Really step with some huge potholes in it so you had to give it  serious bit of wellie to get up.  Sara and Melissa got out to watch and I had to stop at the top as I ended up heading straight for them!!

There was a bit where they thought we might got stuck, so the recovery vehicle went through first - but got stuck.  This photo is me being towed while I tow him - we got him out though.
