Melissa the Muppet

Classic Melissa moment yesterday.

I was ready to head off to the tip and standing by the bin bags when Melissa walked past. To save me going upstairs I asked her to go and get the bin from her bedroom, and called Cammy to ask him to get the one from the bathroom.

Cameron duly turned up with a full bin which he put in the black bag, but Melissa turned up with an empty bin. What a Muppet I thought, why bring it down if it was empty. So off to the tip I went.

Later that day when putting Melissa to bed I heard Sara say, "Oh Melissa!!". When I went up to investigate it turns out Melissa's muppetry was greater then we thought. As I had asked her to bring the bin down, it seems she took me at my word, and emptied the rubbish on the floor in her room, before bringing it down. Muppet.

Bring me Broccolli

(in answer to the Narrewarren Crews question - yes, it's a BP Oil refinery - stinks!)

Last night after another long day we went out for dinner, found a reasonable restaurant. I ordered linguini which turned up with a load of fatty cheese all over it. Ordinarily I wouldn't mind, but having been fed on fatty foods all week (there isn't much else around here in Indiana) my body had had enough. Only one solution - I ordered a plate of broccolli and had that for my dinner!!!!

Getting tired now. We set out at 6 eavery morning, and by the time we've eaten get back at about 10pm. The weekend was great fun, but reckon we should have got more rest!!!!

Three more days then a flight bak to the UK. Be great to see Sara and the kids again.

Some photos from Chicago

First shot from the boat trip. Middle tower is the Hancock which I went up yesterday.

Next is from the boat as well but you can see one of the main bridges in the river. These bridges are only opened every now and then. With som many bridges they can only open them in sequence for one way - while we were there everyone was heading inland to winter their yachts.

City skyline, showing the pier - didn't get there.

A shot from the Lego shop...next door to the hotel.

And how about this for a cool McDonalds

Went to the Science museum today which has a U-Boat which the US Navy captured during the war. Fascinating and MASSIVE.

d'oh....forgot the card reader

Thought I'd packed a card reader, but its a USB hub, so no Chicago photos yet.

Had a busy day today, river trip, out into the bay, walked round the shops, bought some stuff, went up one of Chicagos tallest buildings (94th floor) went to the beach, and then out for Pizza. Have some good photos but you'll have to wait.

Plan is to go to an Irish bar and have breakfast at nine so we can watch Villa versus Chelsea.

Living it up in Chicago

Thought it only fair to let people know what a typical day is like for a consultant working in Chicago, so yesterday went a bit like.....

05:30 alarm goes off, get dressed quick and head downstairs for a speedy breakfast. Breakfast doesn't open til 6 so have to wolf it down as we leave the hotel at 6:10
07:00 arrive at Oil Refinery
07:30 first interview of the day, 90 mins followed by 30 mins writing up notes
10:00 next interview, notes etc
12:00 pop out to greasy spoon for lunch - a surprisingly unpleasant kebab shop
More interviews all afternoon
Finally leave the office at 19:30 and find somewhere for dinner....pizza house
21:00 get back to hotel, in bed and asleep about 10 minutes later.

Long hard work

Big News for Pops

Thought I'd let Pops see this, there are posters all over Chicago for this new film......
