Tidy up day

Bank Holiday Monday today, so we thought we'd try and make the most of it.

Started off by going off to Conkers. It's just up the road and has playgrounds, discovery centre and nice outdoor areas. We are thinking of having Cammy's birthday party there so wanted to see if it would be any good - should be great.

When we got back we launched into a tidy up of the play room. Sara did most of it as she was chief "keep or chuck" judge. Loads better now, but am sure it won't last long.

I'm trying to tidy up the study now, mainly overdue filing.

Zoo trip

Had fun at the zoo on Friday.
Took Tich and the Dode's to West Midlands Safari Park. It was quite a nice day and the first day of the bank holiday, so unfortunately a bit too busy really. Much frustration as people seemed to want to spend ages feeding the one or two deer about, while a huge queue built up. The kids got to go on a bunch of the rides as well, although it started to rain a bit at the end.

Tich should be well on his way to Ho Chi Minh by now. I've just had a bit of an afternoon kip, to recover fromt eh early trip to Heathrow. Anyway, ToodlePip

Back from Ilfracombe

Well , the kids and I returned safe and sound from Ilfracombe on Saturday after a lovely few days spent with Rachel and her family. We did lots of great things; going to 'The Big Sheep' - a theme park with lots of things to do.

and we had some good weather on Friday and went to Barracane Bay at Woolacombe.

Since then, we've had some quiet time, going to Ikea on Sunday and swimming with Uncle Tich this morning. U. Tich took Cammy and Melissa to see Dodo and Elsie this afternoon, who are in fine form.

I love admin

I can't believe how many forms I've got to fill in to try and sell a £40k piece of work. I have to do...

Money Laundering Checklist
Client Acceptance Checklist
Engagement Acceptance Form
Authorisation For Services Form
Profitability Analysis
Relationship Check
Conflict of Interest Check

The worst of it is that some of these are 12 pages long, and require countless authorisation. It's all there to protect the company from being accused of fraud but feels rather painful on a small job like this...

Oh well, I shall keep on plodding through. It's all being made a bit more fun by listening to Johnny Cash, American 5.

Another lonely night!!

Another night on my own, Sara and the kids stayed in Ilfracombe today so they could get another day on the beach. Also, they reckoned the traffic is better on Saturdays as all of teh chalets and caravn parks tend to do their swapovers on Fridays.

I went over to the tennis club for a couple of hours. Weather was fine when I got there, but this only lasted 5 minutes. Got a bit silly at the end but a bit of rain doesn't hurt. The balls were hopeless at the end though.

Upgraded the Boradband today, should be abit quicker in future, but also means we get a decent wireless system. Much easier for work and the like and should be a bit mroe reliable than the current one.

Quite late now, so off for a snooze - wonder if anyone ever reads this......

3.5 hours kip

I can confirm that 3.5 hours is not enough kip.

Went to the England game with Tich, Flan and the King last night and ended up with a late night chinese. Looking on the bright side the M6 is really clear at 03:00 - it had been a pig on the way down.

Not a lot new. Sara has gone down to Ilfracombe with Cammy and Pops to see an old friend, so should get a couple of photos at the weekend.

Sam is so slack!

Well, I looked at our site and found it hadn't been updated for a while, so here goes.
Since coming back from Weston, Cammy and Melissa have a great couple of days with Grandma and Grandad, playing at the park in Stratford. Cammy says he did 3 back flips on the bungie trampoline! Sam and I managed to go out for a meal and some quality time together.
Tich arrived safely at Heathrow, despite the terrorist scare and has settled in to British time well. Of course he had to go and see the Dodes as soon as he got into Birmingham. Needless to say they were delighted!

Went to Freya's 10th birthday party up in Rossett yesterday, stopping at Shrewsbury on the way for Tich and Sam to relive some of their childhood!

oh so tired

All a bit tired here. After the two parties on Saturday, we had another one on Sunday. Straight from the party Sara took the kids down to Weston to visit a 'school mum' and her boys who have a caravan down there. They stayed overnight and played in the sea the next day.

Meanwhile, I stayed at home and got a few jobs done, mowed the lawn, tidied up the garden and sorted out the photos on the Mac.

They all got back late Monday Night so I think we all need a decent nights kip tonight.

Parties galore....

...well two parties, but still, Melissa had five hours non-stop kiddies parties. First one was at Hatton Country World near Kenilworth, second at Heathers house down the road. All good fun but surprisingly tiring. They are currently in the bath, undoubtedly splashing water all over the place.

First Post

Hi all,

Had a bunch of fun last week in Disneyland paris, and bizarrely have just been asked to develop some training material that will then have to deliver there in September. In the evenings we get to run around various bits of the park after they ae closed to the public.....

Kids are at Grandma and Granddads with Sara this afternoon. I'm in London at the mo, but nearly had enough. If I go soon I can get a bit of tidying up done tonight before the better half gets in.
