Melissa's Fifth

All the usual suspects turned up for a joint Katy and Melissa birthday party. Amazingly, considering the rain we've been having, we managed to have a barbecue and bouncy castle. Good fun was had by all.

Sculpture

So finally we get roudn to uploading the sculpture weekend pictures. Above is Sara's head, super isn't it. Quite rightly she was pretty pleased with the outcome - you could say a new career beckons!!



The sculpting took place in a small workshop up on a hill near Abergavenny, lovely place, but unfortunately the weather wasn't as nice at it could have been.

The second half of the workshop switched to stone carving. Sara went for a traditional 'compass' design. She now needs to find time to finish off some of the details...then we can find it a place in the garden.

He's a Natural

I'll try not to go on about it but I did manage runner up in Driver of the day (with 80 there including a group who'd been several times before, that's not bad)

Most fun was the Palmer JP1 - a two seater which meant we could go round with an instructor shouting at us, for example making me ignore the braking signs and go flat out round some of the longer corners. Posted second fastest time of the day in these, which was cool particularly as we were on wets. (don't I sound the pro...)



Other cars were also great, especially the caterham. I'd always thought of these as cars for plonkers, but want one now......






Got maximum points on the Land Rover challenge so brought home a small trophy as top off-roader.
