Helping out

Tich and Dette kick started a fair old clean up at Grandma's while she was away, starting with a clothes tidy up an progressing to the garden. This was them before the tribes turned up to help over the weekend.

We had the open house on sat so it was abit busy but we all went for it on Sunday, with new slabs laid by the pool, more gardening out the front and Sammy putting a new door on the pool cupboard. Here's the helpers slapping on a bit of paint.

He's been cleaning it all day

Resisted the temptation to tell those coming to the open inspection that I've been cleaning it all day', but I would have been true. House looks pretty good, nice and tidy and hopefully someone who cam today likes it enough to stump up the rent and take the tenancy off our hands. Plenty came in and looked interested. When one family left the mum asked the kids a question and kids hands shot up. We always asked our kids, "want to live there?".

So we'll see. There was nearly a major mishap in the prep when I managed trim the front of my right shoe with the lawnmower, could've been interesting. (and yes, it was on my foot at the time)

Pommie trip

Our first trip back home as a family. We treated ourselves to business class on the last leg just to take the edge of the journey and get us ready for the best part, meeting up with people again.

Picked up at the airport by Grandma, Grandad and Jo, we were soon in Bromsgrove and off to pick up Ellie and Katie from school.

We managed to squeeze quite a lot in and it won't all get in here, but there were a few highlights such as; getting the family together and Jo's and seeing the cousins back as a group, playing pool with Lee, cards night at Flans, relaxing in Great Rollright, looking at the amazing collections in Snowshill Manor, spending time with the Deanery Mums, visit to Guide offices in London and a day out at Legoland.

Of course it was also great that Sara was able to join her dad on a trips to his appointments. he was doing fabulously and there was much relief to see how well he has progressed since his stroke.

Here's some photos......
