Busy day for Cammy

Day started with Cammy going off to do the Woodleigh scholarship exam. He had done a few practice tests, so felt quite happy going in, we shall have to wait and see how he goes.

Melissa had a Danielle and Katrina round to play in the pool, so Cam and Dad went for a play in Canadian Bay with the Ryders and Morecroft Massive.

Die Roten Punkte

Wednesday Sara went into town with Dette anbd her "massive" to see Die Röten Punkte, a comdey band led by Dette's love, Otto Rot. Much hilarity apparently and now Sara has a new FB friend in Otto. Should we be worried?

A circus party

Saturday morning party for Melissa at Jess's. Lots of fun apparently, tight ropes, diabolo's and the like. Sleepover chez Gershon afterwards and despite being with 10yolds it was apparently pops who had to be told to quieten down repeatedly until a sterner 'shut up' at midnight!! Meanwhile Cam and Dad had a chinese in front of Pirates of the Carribean.

Bats in Sydney

Cool last night, sitting in a rooftop pool overlooking the Sydney Opera House as hundreds of bats flew over. Like stuff like that.


Today started well as well, with Cammy being formally given his role on the Derinya leadership team with responsility for welfare. He just needs to look it up in the dictionary to find out what he has got to do!!??!!

Cammy comes first

As well as the kids starting tennis lessons it's been a good sporting week. On Tuesday Cammy went to a swimming gala with school and entered the 50m backstroke. He won. Go Cammy!!!!

Has it really been a year?

This time last year we were all having a few minutes alone with Dad before he jangled his keys for the last time. A year on I am frequently transported back to that exact moment and wonder whether he could hear us. I hope so as it was probably one of the first times we had truly thanked him for being a great Dad. He was always happy to get involved and support what we did, from jeeps to windsurfing to rekindled scuba in Oz, he knew the importance of doing something with us.

Never easy to know what to do on anniversaries of things like this. We chose to take the boat out. Unfortunately Pete couldn't make it but I think Mum valued having something fun to do on a potentially awkward date.

It was a great trip actually, with teh 5 dolphins being the highlight. Mum even had a little drive..........

Inner Geek

Oh what fun to see the mighty Ultramarines come to life. Cam and Dad have been painting these guys for a year or so now, so it was pretty cool to see them on the TV in surround sound destroying chaos marines and demons. Fraser was let down by the lack of Tau, but cool nonetheless

Tooth surprise

Cammy had a tooth fall out this week, much to his and Sara's surprise. Just in case they went to casualty to see what they thought, but was confirmed as a rather late milk tooth.
