Finding me on Google Earth

I typed in Westheimer and the JW Marriott on Westheimer TX was the third thing on the list. If you double click on the pic you should be able to see the 'drawing pin' better which shows my window and the co-ordinates in case you are stuck.

Gems at the Natural History Museum

We decided to grab a cab this morning and go to the Natural History Museum and see the Body World exhibition. Bit gory but very interesting. They also had a really good gem collection, check out these, Opal and Rhodocrosite.



They also had a fun thing where you select a geodite and they crack it open for you to see if you find any crystals. I thought one of these would be a great present for Cammy.

First you have to select the Geodite...


...then she loads into into her kit...


...and then she turns the wrench until it cracks...



What, you don't expect me to reveal the results here? Cammy will have to wait and see when I get back from Houston. Sorry!!!

Go Aeros

So, to relieve the boredom of Houston, we went out tonight to see the Houston Aeros play the Iowa Chops (what kind of a name is that?)


Good game in the end, 1-1 at full time, no score in extra time and so they had a shoot out. Other fun bit was the fight. At the start of the second period two guys threw off their gloves and skated to the middle, it was all done very calmly and the refs stood aside while they had a fist fight......weird.


At each of the intervals they did silly things, like a dance off between two people to win a free dinner. We liked this one...Kiss cam. The camera switched to different couples around the crowd and they had to kiss. Simple, but highly amusing due to the variety of the couples they chose. They closed with two of the opponents players to much jeering.

Whilst in Houston wanted 5 mins distraction and had a quick look at Youtube.....hard not to laugh at this, the host can't cope with his interviewees voice.....

Snow, Snow, Snow

What a week, snow every day, schools closed, roads chaos etc......but it does all mean, sledging, snowballs, snowman and playing in the defender.
